They say dogs are man’s best friend, and few things show that more than when people and their pets are reunited after huge chunks of time apart. After being away in the military or on a long trip, seeing your pet again makes everything better.Miss Poppy hadn’t seen her dad, Michael Tully, in nearly two months while he was away for work.In the adorable clip below, the dog is about to get the best surprise when Michael walks through the door to see her and the pair is reunited!“I have a surprise for you,” Miss Poppy’s mom says to the dog. “There’s someone who wants to see you!” As if knowing her dad is coming home, she perks up her ears and stares at the door.Sure enough, her dad comes in and Miss Poppy takes off toward Michael, excited as ever.“Daddy’s home, Daddy’s home,” Michael says, which gets her even more excited to finally be reunited with him — good thing she didn’t pass out from her excitement. The dog yips and whines almost as if to say, “I can’t believe you’re home, Dad!”Miss Poppy reacts like any pet that misses their parent, with lots of barking and adorable tail wagging. The bond her and her owner share is unmistakable and as strong as ever.

Dog Abandoned By Her Family Won't Let Go Of Her Favorite Toy

Pets get dumped at the shelter for all kinds of reasons — because they’re too old, or because they have behavior issues, or even because their family is moving.In the case of a young pit bull named Layla, she was left at the shelter because her family thought she was one pet too many, according to Jackie O’Sullivan, cofounder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, an organization that rescues homeless, abused and neglected dogs.

“We read her owner surrender notes, which stated she lived with five kids and two other dogs, and that she was surrendered due to too many pets,” O’Sullivan told The Dodo. “It’s very sad.”

Auburn was pulled from a big shelter in West Virginia sometime in 2008. No one is sure how she ended up at the shelter, or how long she’d been without a home before she got there. She was rescued from the shelter by Better Days Animal League, and has been waiting for a home ever since. It’s been nine whole years.

.Auburn is 12 years old now, and it’s entirely possible that she’s gone her entire life without knowing what it’s like to have a home or a family. She absolutely adores people and loves attention of any kind, and so it’s hard to imagine how this sweet dog has been overlooked again and again.

One pet owner in Midland is devastated after her poodle was mauled and killed by another dog inside PetSmart.

The owner, Liliana Vergara, says she's not getting the answers she wants from the store manager.

Vergara says that her dog Luna was 13-years-old and getting up in age on the fateful day they stepped into the Midland PetSmart.

Dog Dies After Carrot Is Forced Into Her Vagina

A pregnant pup who had a carrot forced into her vagina has tragically died after surgery.

I’m not sure what sort of a despicable person would do such a thing to a poor, innocent dog, someone did and the shock of the horrendous assault has sadly cost the dog her life.

Little Pamuk – which translates as cotton in English – suffered devastating injuries after an ‘unknown person’ forced a foot long carrot into the small dog’s vagina.
